"Flying L Matches"

Recently we found the original matchbook from the Flying L Ranch. The matches are believed to be from 1947 the year we had the grand opening and we were able to get them reproduced.
Stop by the ranch for yours.

"Tonight"

We will be playing tonight at seven thirty.
Hope you can make it.
" The evening entertainment provided by Buck and Matt was something very special – not only because of their finger-snapping, toe-tapping country songs but also because of the way they were able to connect with the audience. Their harmony was a joy to listen to and Buck has a gift for telling stories and relating anecdotes about country life and country songs. What a great way to spend an enjoyable evening sitting around a camp fire and listening to country ballads and traditional favorites with a welcomed invite to join in the singing."

"Will Rogers Spends A Little Time With Col.Jack Lapham"

Did you know that the Laphams and Will Rogers flew to Bob Kleberg's King Ranch?  Will Rogers wrote:

KINGSVILLE Tex., Nov 5 - Down on the great King Ranch., biggest in the whole southwest, and I did my best acting today trying to act and look like a cowboy on Bob Kleber's best cutting horse and hanging on by my teeth. Both Kleberg girls dragged calves up to the fire faster than I ever could.  This is a real outfit.  If you think they're ain't any more real cowboys in this country, you're crazy.

Flew down with the flying Laphams and Frank Hawks.  Mother Lapham flying her own plane, Papa Lapham his, Baby Lapham his, each Lapham servant their

You can see Will Rogers on utube. "Will Rogers a roping fool"

"Lapham's Lodge"

We are really excited about the construction of "Lapham's Lodge".
The lodge will have 10 bedrooms, a large meeting area that has a great view overlooking the hills to the southwest and a patio with a fireplace.
This will all tie in with renovations of the original "Pilot's Lounge".
A great place for family reunions, business meetings and golf outings.
Stop by when you get a chance, I would like to show you  around.

"Lapham's Lodge"

The L in the new Lapham’s Lodge

It was a bit cold… but quite a crowd gathered at the Flying L Guest Ranch’s historic Pilot’s Lounge in the morning of Monday, December 30, 2013 to celebrate the latest addition to the Guest Ranch. Colonel Lapham put the L in the Flying L back in 1946 when he founded the Guest Ranch as a fly in destination, and now the newest addition will bear his name. Ground was broken for  Lapham’s Lodge. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Chamber officials and members, local business owners, ranch home owners and of course Flying L Guest Ranch management and staff. The projects builder, Scott Asher, was introduced, and Ed Urbanek, the projects designer spoke about how the project ties in to the architectural history of the Ranch. Original buildings were designed by Frank Lloyd Wright associates, and the Lapham’s Lodge features touches of those original designs.
The new Lapham’s Lodge, located next to the Pilot’s Lounge will feature 10 bedrooms with private baths, a large great room capable of hosting business events, family reunions, church groups and other gatherings. The full kitchen will allow groups to prepare meals and snacks for themselves if they wish. Lapham’s Lodge should be finished and ready for use in June of 2014.
